ACCOUNTANT  (ENTRY LEVEL)

The Accountant’s primary responsibilities include the following functions in accordance with SMG/OHP policies.

 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and enter Journal Entries.
  • Maintain, reconcile, and analyze general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare accounts receivable invoices or post receipts.
  • Track deposits made for events.
  • Review event estimates or draft invoices prepared by event managers or F&B manager.
  • Review revenue reports from outside contractors.
  • Review event reports which may include food & beverage cost reports and POS reports.
  • Reconcile box office transactions and related bank activity.
  • Assist with capital assets and the annual inventory. Track assigned asset tags. Coordinate proper disposition of assets as needed following established procedures.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare various financial reports and analysis as requested.
  • Help ensure proper accounting procedures throughout the facility.  
  • Prepare tax reports. 
  • Assist with audits.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university with a major in accounting;
  • Minimum 2 years’ related experience and/or training is preferred;
  • Experience in public accounting or event facility accounting preferred; 
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills essential;
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment;

COMPUTER SKILLS                                                    

To perform this job successfully, knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential. Experience with Sage or Peachtree Accounting Software is preferred.

CATERING SUPERVISOR                                            

FLSA Status: Salary Exempt                                         

Department: Food & Beverage                          

Reports to: F&B Operations Manager

 

SUMMARY:  The Catering Supervisor will work in conjunction with the Banquet Manager and Catering Sales Manager in both Banquet and Arena Functions within the Catering Department to include, but not limited to, Suite Attendant, Banquets, Meetings, Bars and any other function serving any food and beverage items.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the training of new employees.
  • Schedule the appropriate staff for events, oversee and direct staff.
  • Assist with enforcing SMG/OHP policies and procedures including alcohol policies.
  • Serve as liaison with clients.
  • Fulfill the service per each Banquet Event Order (BEO).
  • Prep set up and organization of Catered Event; Prep break down and cleanup of Catered Event.
  • Creativity in designing buffet presentations and coffee break décor.
  • Continuously improve the overall look and appearance of buffets.
  • Maintain a line of communication with the Banquet Manager.
  • Manage banquets in the absence of Banquet Manager/F&B Operations Manager.
  • Assist Banquet Manager with maintaining accurate cogs and labor for an event.
  • Follow and maintain all cost guidelines for labor, beverage & food.
  • Maintain all Banquet equipment cleanliness on a daily basis.
  • Attend Weekly F&B Department Meetings and Menu Meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required;
  • 1 to 2 years’ experience supervising other employees in the food service industry.
  • ServSafe and TIPS Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish preferred.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:                

  • Advanced oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with management, staff and clientele;
  • Excellent organizational, planning, customer service and inter-personal skills;
  • Attention to details and the ability to multi task;

Physical Demands

  • Position requires working extended hours, flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays, based on event schedule.
  • Position requires physical ability to move about large facilities, including being on feet and walking for prolonged periods, bending, crouching, reaching, grabbing and/or standing up to and over 8-10 hours daily.
  • May be required to work both indoors and outdoors as required by the event.
  • Position requires being able to be exposed to high noise levels during concerts and other events.

AVAILABLE PART-TIME POSITIONS

CONCESSIONS STAND MANAGER (P/T On-Call)

SUMMARY: Oversee the concession stands and handle operations, issues and situations during an event; control inventory during events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

• Verify the beginning and ending inventory counts in the concession stands;
• Keeps track of incoming and outgoing inventory;
• Ensure product is stocked and available to guest at all times;
• Help enforce all SMG policies and procedures including alcohol policies;
• Ensure that all paperwork is filled out properly;
• Provide excellent customer service skills;
• Assist with training new concession workers;
• Other duties as assigned;

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Able to work in a team environment;
• Excellent people and customer service skills;
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions;
• Ability to supervise other employees;
• Sound decision maker and knows when to concur with management if needed;

CASHIER (Part-Time On-Call)

SUMMARY: Sell menu items at the concession stand, control waste and provide good customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

• Follow all policies and procedures of SMG;
• Assist in the setup of the stand prior to event, (cooking pretzels, making hotdogs, etc.);
• Verify starting bank with money manager and handle money in accordance with cashier money handling policy;
• Keep track of all voids and over rings;
• Take orders from customers; Check ID for alcohol sales and enforce alcohol policy;
• Assist with keeping an accurate inventory count;
• Balance revenue sheet after each event;
• Help with post event break down, (cleaning, putting stock away, etc.);
• Other duties as assigned;

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Have a working knowledge of the Food & Beverage industry;
• Great customer service skills;
• Ability to work in a team environment;
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions;
• Clean professional appearance, and ability to adhere to uniform policy;

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Must obtain Safe Staff training within 90 days of employment;
• Must have cashier experience and excellent math skills;

Wait Staff (On-Call)

Wait Staff Summary:  To work both Banquet and Restaurant Functions within the Catering Department to include, Suite Attendant, Reception Events, Cart Service and any other function serving food and beverage items.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AMD RESPONSIBILITIES

Required to read, understand and continually follow the Savor Catering/Osceola Banquet

Training Guide;

Obtain Safe Staff training within 90 days of employment.
Fulfill the service per each Banquet Event Order (BEO);
Assist with set up and organization of catered event;
Serve food and beverage at events; provide excellent customer service;

Must be able to adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures of the company including alcohol and uniform policy;

Attention to detail and consistency in every aspect of service is a must;

Maintain all Banquet equipment cleanliness;
Hands-on with all aspects of the Banquet Server duties;

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

One plus years of wait staff experience;

QUALIFICATIONS:

Some knowledge of the food and beverage industry is a plus;

SUMMARY

Bartender will work Arena and Banquet Functions with the Catering Department serving beverage items.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

Verify starting bank with money manager;

Handle money in accordance with the policies of this company;

Enforce all alcohol policies and check ID’s for proof of age;

Help enforce all policies and procedures of the company;

Provide continuous hands on service during the event;

Maintain all bar equipment cleanliness;

Assist with keeping accurate inventory count;

Keep track of all voids and over rings;

Balance revenue and inventory sheet after each event;

Make sure paperwork is complete and filled out properly;

Attend Tips certification class within 90 days of employment;

Obtain Safe Staff training within 90 days of employment;

Other duties may be assigned;

Ability to ability to follow written and verbal instructions;

Able to work independently or in a team environment;

Ability to multi-task;
