HARTT TAKES ALL-AROUND COWBOY DURING 121ST SILVER SPURS RODEO

Thousands of rodeo fans watched as cowboys and cowgirls from across the nation competed during last weekend’s 121st Silver Spurs Rodeo of Champions and as Brad Hartt from Zolfo Springs, FL walked away as the All-Around Cowboy.

Hartt earned top scores in Steer Wrestling and Tie Down Roping, giving him the recognition and custom handmade saddle, sponsored by Poffenbaugh Ford of St. Cloud.  A cowboy must compete in two or more events to qualify for the All-Around Cowboy, the cowboy earning the highest points combined comes out on top.

Weekend winners included: Bull Riding, Friday Wright II from Carthage, TX 83 pts.; Saddle Bronc Riding, Jim Burnett from Kenansville, FL 78 pts.; Steer Wrestling, Juan Alcazar Jr. from Okeechobee FL time 3.5; Bareback Riding, Jared Smith from Ranger, TX 76 pts.; Barrel Racing, Tammi Pettis from Osteen FL time 16.30; Team Roping, Jimmy Tanner from Tifton GA and Manny Egusquiza Jr from Madison, GA time 5.4; Tie Down Roping, Jeff Clair from St. Cloud, FL time 8.8; Jr. Barrels, Aldyn Ahston from Lorida, FL time 16.51.

The Silver Spurs Riding Club, a non-profit organization, is a volunteer based Osceola County tradition since 1942.  Club members dedicate endless hours to the club’s events such as the bi-annual Silver Spurs Rodeo of Champions to promote good horsemanship, fellowship and to continue a lifelong tradition.

The Silver Spurs Riding Club will return in 2009 for their 122nd Silver Spurs Rodeo of Champions February 20-22 at the Silver Spurs Arena at Osceola Heritage Park.
