The Houston Astros unveiled their 2008 Spring Training schedule. The club returns to its base in Kissimmee, Florida, for the 24th season and will play 15 home games at Osceola County Stadium. The Astros will also play two exhibition games vs. the Detroit Tigers at Minute Maid Park on March 28-29.

The Astros begin Grapefruit League play at Winter Haven vs. the Cleveland Indians on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 1:05 p.m., the first of five Spring games vs. the Indians. Twelve of the Astros road game times are slated for 1:05 p.m. starts. The club will play one night road game, on Tuesday, March 25, at Lakeland vs. Detroit at 6:05 p.m.

The Astros will host their first game at Osceola County Stadium in Kissimmee vs. the Indians in an afternoon game on Friday, February 29 at 1:05 p.m. Of the 15 games at Osceola County Stadium, 13 are scheduled to begin at 1:05 p.m. The two home night games are scheduled for Friday, March 14 vs. Detroit, Wednesday and March 19 vs. Atlanta at 7:05 p.m.

The home slate also features the New York Yankees (March 3), the Toronto Blue Jays (March 10), the Los Angeles Dodgers (March 13), the New York Mets (March 16), and two games vs. the Detroit Tigers (March 4, 14). The Astros will face the Atlanta Braves six times this Spring: March 1, 15 and 19 in Kissimmee; and March 2, 8, and 23 at Disney.

The Astros will play two split-squad games on March 8 and March 15. One team will play at Disney vs. Atlanta on Saturday, March 8, while the other squad will host Washington at Osceola County Stadium. On March 15, one team will stay in Kissimmee to play Atlanta, while the other squad will travel to Winter Haven to play the Indians. All games are scheduled for 1:05 p.m.

The Astros will return home to the Lone Star State on March 28 to play a pair of exhibition games vs. the Detroit Tigers. The Friday, March 28 game will begin at 7:05 p.m., while the Saturday, March 29 game starts at 1:05 p.m. The Astros open the 2007 season on the road on Monday, March 31 at 6:05 p.m. at PETCO Park against the San Diego Padres.
