More than triple of the amount of competitors are expected to compete during the 2nd Annual Silver Spurs Futurity & NBHA Challenge September 25, 26 and 27 at the Silver Spurs Arena at Osceola Heritage Park that last year.
Action kicks off on Friday night at 7:00 pm with the Futurity division, a division for barrel horses at the age of four years old. On Saturday at 8:00 am and Sunday at 9:00 am will be the start times for the NBHA Challenge, hosting a wide range of competing divisions. Spectators will receive free admission into the event all weekend. More than a dozen vendors offering an array of materials will be on display throughout the weekend.
“This is an event produced and hosted by the Silver Spurs Club. This is our second year, and we are so excited that our numbers have more than tripled,” says Steve Whaley, Silver Spurs Big Boss. “It’s great to see the Silver Spurs Arena being used to host other equestrian events,” Whaley continues.
The National Barrel Horse Association, headquartered in Augusta, Georgia, is the largest barrel racing organization in the world. In 1992, the NBHA revolutionized the barrel racing industry by pioneering the divisional format, which allows riders of all skill levels a chance to win money and prizes in barrel racing competition.
